Stop by to check out the gallery, ask a question or create an artist blog!

The web has slowly taken over the world in the past 20 years but that does not mean we are all equally capable of adapting to it. Many artists, musicians, photographers, and….well everyone has utilized the amazing social networking and blogging tools to connect with their supporters and expand beyond their immediate circle of friends. However if you have never heard of a tag, a post, a page, a widget or even a blog then you may be somewhat limited to what you are capable of publishing via the web.

Jay P Elling of Pittsfieldcontemporary.com helps a local artist get her blog started.

Thanks to PittsfieldContemporary.com and Jay P Elling you can now finally join the world wide web even without having any previous knowledge! Every other Tuesday you can stop in for a Geek Session where you can ask any question you want as well as get help setting up a new blog to promote your art! You will be hosted on the pittsfieldcontemporary.com website using a blogging tool called WordPress. A blog can consist of your writing, your photographs, your paintings, or any other art you wish to share with people. It also makes it a lot easier to share things on facebook and other social networking sites!

After you get a handle on it, and believe me wordpress is super simple to navigate and update, you will be added to the Artist Blogroll which is a list of latest posts from artists all around the county! I dropped in to “geek” a bit about my blog and wordpress as well as see what it was all about, I highly suggest you do the same!

Stop by 305 North St Tuesday August 17th from 6-8pm to get your own blog started or just to learn more about the gallery and the world of blogging!
