Leslie Ferrin, Suky Werman and Sienna Patti

I had first heard about ArtBerkshires while visiting the Ferrin Gallery on North St recently for the opening of Maggie Mailer. I fell in love with the gallery’s layout and all of the things in it! (check out my blog about my visit) So when I got an invitation to another gallery I had never been to I was excited to check it out!

The Sienna Gallery was host to the opening reception of the 20/21 Modern Style and Studio Craft which is an exhibit connecting contemporary art and design in the Berkshires. We parked on main st in Lenox near a pretty little park that would be host to a great band later in the evening. I found the gallery just off of main st where people were gathered for complimentary martinis and photographs.

The drawers filled with jewelry and the room filled with creativity!

I ran into the amazing Leslie Ferrin owner of the Ferrin Gallery and she introduced me to some of the extremely talented people in attendance. I was lucky enough to be invited to the Private Press Launch Opening where I stood a bit star struck for a few minutes. Some of the most hard working and creative people in New England (in my opinion and many others) had all come out to support this excellent exhibit and opening weekend! Leslie Ferrin – owner of the Ferrin Gallery on North St, Sienna Patti – Owner of the Sienna Gallery in Lenox, Mary Garnish -  Berkshire Living, Stuart Chase – Berkshire Museum Executive Director, Nancy Fitzpatrick - Owner of the Red Lion Inn in Stockbridge and so many other impressive people!

Some of the beautiful & unique pieces

After I pulled myself together a bit I noticed all of the beautiful things around me, most noticeably the hand crafted jewelry. The gallery was full of softly lined drawers filled with the most beautiful, creative, and fun jewelry I’d ever seen! There were things in all types of price ranges, shapes, sizes, colors, and textures. I personally love creating concepts for photo shoots and if I EVER need a place for inspiration I know where to go! The jewelry was amazing but not the only star of the show. I found myself drawn to a set of mirrors that had been scored in a beautiful sweeping curvaceous pattern as well as a photograph of a sunset with the sky turned black.

I am really very excited by what I have seen of the galleries I have visited so far. I have always thought art was powerful and beautiful but I have never gotten the chance to experience it quite like this. Stop by The Barn Gallery at Stonover Farm, Lenox, MA Friday, August 6 from 5:00 -7:00 pm for the Opening Reception of 20/21 Modern Style and Studio Craft – group show of art + object + design.
